Before assembling

In most cases, your new upholstered furniture will be delivered directly to your home by the contractor or furniture store. The assembly and adjustment, as well as the connection and check of the convenience functions, will also be performed for you by the contractor or furniture store. If this is the case, you only need to observe the information on choosing the right location.

If you are assembling your new upholstered furniture yourself, we have collected further notes and information for you in this section.

1. Choose the right location

Select the location for your upholstered furniture with care. In addition to the architectural features and the furnishings on your premises, you also need to consider the following aspects when choosing a location:

    • Heat sources: never place your upholstered furniture in the direct vicinity of a heat source or fireplace and never position your upholstered furniture in front of a radiator.
    • Daylight: although they are highly resistant to fading, upholstered furniture covers can fade if exposed to direct sunlight.
    • Moisture: avoid positioning your upholstered furniture in an environment with elevated humidity.
    • Structural conditions: choose a level location for your upholstered furniture.

2. Prepare for assembly

If you are assembling your upholstered furniture yourself, please proceed as follows and observe the individual notes.

Your new upholstered furniture will be delivered in one or more packages, depending on its size. A sheet with all information regarding the order picking is adhered to each package in a prominent position. The upholstered elements are numbered consecutively and listed in order. The illustration shows the mounted set: seen from the front, the first element is on the far right and last on the far left.

  1. For larger and more complex upholstered furniture, we recommend that at least one other person helps you with assembly.
  2. Identify the product and check that there is nothing missing from your upholstered furniture set delivery.
  3. It is a good idea to place all the delivered parts directly in the place where your upholstered furniture will be located.

3. Check the product

Once all packages have been placed in the new location, unpack them. Take care while doing this! We recommend spreading out the packaging (cardboard and/or plastic films) over a wide surface to protect the floor and placing the individual elements on it in the correct order.

Each package contains:

  • The specific upholstered furniture element
  • An installation manual, fastened on the bottom of the element
  • Additional information and certificates – to be kept in a safe place!
  • Accessoriesand assembly tools

Check whether any of the upholstered elements have been damaged during transport. Report any complaints or missing parts immediately after delivery to your contractor or to the furniture store where you bought the upholstered furniture.

=> Once you have prepared everything as described, place follow the relevant installation manual and the assembly instructions for element groups or single pieces of furniture.
