Hazards arising from installed parts

Children and persons with limited physical, sensory or mental abilities or inadequate experience and/or inadequate knowledge are only permitted to use moving functions and components on the upholstered furniture under the supervision of a person responsible for their safety.

Furthermore, we would like to draw your attention to the following hazards arising from the components optionally installed in the upholstered furniture. Failure to observe these guidelines may result in danger to persons:

  • Persons/body parts or objects may become clamped as the result of the operation of functions of the upholstered furniture.
  • All parts of the upholstered furniture that are not designed to be sat on, such as footrests and headrests, are not designed to withstand elevated loads. In an extended or retracted state, an elevated load (as caused by sitting or jumping, for example) may cause parts to break off or collapse and thus cause personal injury.
  • If the upholstered furniture is modified or repositioned, it must be noted that bases, especially support legs, will break off if exposed to elevated and unbalanced load, which can cause personal injury.
  • The relax function is approved and functional up to a maximum load of 140 kg per seat. The Relax functions are approved for two persons for seat widths of 100cm and above. The maximum load is then 220kg.
For safety reasons and because of potential warranty and guarantee claims, damage to the upholstered furniture must only be rectified by a certified specialist. Specialists without certification are not permitted to alter or modify the upholstered furniture! Specialists without certification are not permitted to alter or modify the upholstered furniture!
